3rd Regional Chambers of Commerce Roundtable

The Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) organized the 3rd Regional Chambers of Commerce Roundtable in Colombo on 23rd February 2015. The theme of the roundtable was “Enhancing India-Pakistan Trade”.  The roundtable discussion was focused on i) why business persons continue to trade through third countries despite substantial India Pakistan trade normalization? Ii) what measures will help shift the informal trade to formal channels? And iii) how can the land route (both road and rail) be improved to enhance trade between India and Pakistan.

      The Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) organized the 2nd Regional  Chambers of Commerce Roundtable in Karachi on 26th November 2013 in collaboration with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and the Institute of Business Administration (IBA). The theme of the roundtable was “Normalizing India-Pakistan Trade”. It brought together stakeholders from the government, private sector and the regional chambers of commerce from both sides private sector to engage in a more participatory policy debate. The roundtable evaluated challenges to Indo-Pak trade and economic co-operation with the discussion being conducted in four parallel sessions: banking, textile and agriculture, and non-tariff barriers.

      1st Regional Chambers of Commerce Roundtable

          The Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) organized the 1st Regional Chambers of Commerce Roundtable in Lahore on 10th January 2013 in collaboration with the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) and the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). The theme of the roundtable was “Challenges in Indo-Pak Trade and Economic Cooperation”. The objective of this roundtable was to foster dialogue with regional chambers of commerce in both countries. The discussion at the roundtable was divided into three parallel sessions: Importers and Exporters Perspective on trade normalization, non-tariff barriers and prospects for foreign direct investment
